THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE WORK
Barry Burke
Co-Founder
Barry brings more than 25 years of hands-on architectural millwork experience—NYC-trained, Galway-born, and deeply involved in every project from initial concept through final installation. Known for his relentless pursuit of quality and uncompromising attention to detail, Barry has built a reputation for solving complex challenges and delivering exceptional results across luxury residential and commercial environments. Clients value his honesty, craftsmanship, and commitment to getting every detail right, while team members benefit from his passion for mentoring the next generation of millwork professionals. As Kelly transitions into retirement, Barry will assume day-to-day operational leadership of Burke, continuing the culture of excellence and craftsmanship that defines the company.
His expertise extends far beyond fabrication. Barry possesses a rare depth of material intelligence, with extensive knowledge of hardwoods, veneers, high-pressure laminates, thermally fused laminates, solid surface materials, architectural lighting integration, and specialty finishes. An accomplished finisher and craftsman, he is equally comfortable restoring historic architectural details, engineering complex curved geometry, or developing custom solutions for one-of-a-kind installations. His ability to understand how materials behave, age, and interact allows him to transform design intent into enduring, buildable realities.
At heart, however, Barry remains a maker. Whether mentoring employees, solving a difficult fabrication challenge, or restoring a historic detail, nothing brings him greater satisfaction than working at his bench—where creativity, craftsmanship, and decades of experience come together in the pursuit of perfection.

COMMON QUESTOINS
Who should I contact for my project?
Please use the contact form on this website for all enquiries. Whether your project is commercial or luxury residential, your submission will be directed to the appropriate team at Burke Architectural Millwork or Burke Bespoke. Every inquiry is reviewed personally to ensure the right expertise is aligned with your project.
What types of projects do you take on?
We specialize in custom architectural millwork for both commercial and luxury residential environments. Our commercial portfolio includes financial institutions, hospitality environments, restaurants, offices, retail spaces, and complex interior fit-outs. Residential projects range from kitchens, libraries, and wine rooms to dressing rooms, garages, outdoor kitchens, and whole-home millwork programs tailored to the way our clients live.
Do I need an architect or interior designer?
Not necessarily. Many custom millwork projects can be planned and executed without engaging a separate architect or interior designer. With more than a decade of experience, we help clients translate ideas into practical, buildable solutions while providing guidance on materials, functionality, and project scope. When specialized design or architectural services are needed, we can recommend trusted professionals from our network.
Can I work with you if I already have a designer or architect?
Absolutely. Collaboration is at the heart of many of our most successful projects. Over the past decade, we have cultivated relationships with leading architects, interior designers, builders, and project teams by delivering the technical expertise, material knowledge, and craftsmanship required to bring exceptional designs to life. We are always interested in building relationships within the architecture and design community and welcome the opportunity to explore future collaborations with fellow architects, designers, and builders.
How long does a project typically take?
Every project timeline is unique. Factors such as project scope, material availability, fabrication scheduling, and installation complexity all influence timing. Once the scope is clearly defined, we establish a realistic timeline and work closely with your project team to ensure expectations remain aligned throughout the process.
Do I need plans before contacting you?
No. Whether you have completed drawings, preliminary sketches, or simply a vision for your space, we are happy to discuss your project. We can help evaluate scope, materials, and next steps, or collaborate with your existing architect, designer, or builder when plans are already in place.
What makes your approach different?
We believe great millwork is the result of craftsmanship, material intelligence, and attention to detail. From the first conversation through final installation, we take a hands-on approach that emphasizes clear communication, practical solutions, and uncompromising quality. It is a philosophy that has earned the trust of commercial clients, architects, designers, and homeowners alike.
